The Treat Social Club will be celebrating it’s ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY this April 23^nd in full force with the Realistic Orchestra as the anchor for our bang-up show!  The theme of the show is DECONSTRUCTION and we’ve pulled from the very best of our collaborators over the year.   This one is coming up soon, so we ask that you get your tickets quickly.  THERE WILL BE NO DOOR TICKETS SOLD FOR THIS EVENT, so you must get your tickets in advance.   As usual we will feature bomber food, tasty beverages and a few games to keep things interesting.

March 26th Treat Social Club

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for Tuesday, March 26th. Come on out for a stellar evening of music, projections, a live Butoh performance, dancers hanging from ceilings, and more! This installment of the Treat Street Social Club will feature violinist/vocalist Dina Maccabee (of Ramon and Jessica, Real Vocal String Quartet) and composer/trumpeter Darren Johnston (Nice Guy Trio, Brass Menazeri).

Darren Johnston will be sharing two of his latest projects; Broken Shadows, and the Trans-Global People’s Chorus!  Among other selections, you’ll hear a sneak peak of  Johnston’s “Letters to Home”, a new suite based on immigrant stories, to be performed by a 130 person multi-generational chorus this coming June.  Other artists sharing the stage this night, such as Tiffany Austin, Dan Cantrell, Ledoh, Kerri Kresinski, and even Brass Mafia’s don himself, Adam Theis, will amaze your ears, eyes, and hearts.  This is not to be missed.

Dina Maccabee is known to turn up anywhere and everywhere on San Francisco’s stages, from Amnesia with the Japonize Elephants to Tartine Bakery with Carolyna Picknick to the Fillmore with Beats Antique. As a part of Real Vocal String Quartet, she has worked with Feist and recently toured Eastern Europe as a cultural ambassador with American Music Abroad. Her violin and viola stylings can be heard on dozens of records including local releases by Thao Nguyen, Mirah, Vetiver, Thorny Brocky, and the Evie Ladin Band.

Adam and Finn

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for Tuesday, December 18th, just three days before the big shift into the new age.  Some call it the end of days, some the age of aquarius, but we think it’s time for a BIG BEACH PARTY! Bring your bikini, beach blanket and coconuts cause we are gonna roll in the apocolypse in style. Get tickets now cause this one is gonna sell out! Here’s the lineup:

The 17 piece big band, The Realistic Orchestra led by Adam Theis and their many amazing composers will introduce all new works.  As usual we have a number of fine collaborators lined up, dancers, aerialists, food specialists, mask makers and more.  So hit the treadmill fine people, cause we are hitting the beach for the Holidays.

The Treat Social Club was honored to host Spencer Day as it’s featured performer.  On this night we had a number of collaborators who came out to support the show.  Sharp & Fine contributed mightily to two pieces that they set for duet dancers.  Dublin and Eric Garland created a pulsing, gut churning rendition of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven. Jeannie brought back her piece Neighbors which set the tone for the night of blood, death and revenge. Adam Theis put together a hauntingly fun piece for Dr Seuss’s The Grinch. Swaying forth on the Trapeze was the otherwordly Sandia, performing to Vertigo, another Jazz Mafia original.  Finn Kelly made his composition debut with a piece he co-wrote with Spencer and arranged for big band, called I’m Gonna Haunt You. October 30 – Get Freaky

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for Tuesday, October 30th and it is going to be an amazing show!  We have found freaky masks, built out crazy costumes and are ready to get our freak on! Get tickets. Here’s the lineup:

The 15 piece big band, The Realistic Orchestra led by Adam Theis and their many amazing composers will introduce all new works. The incomporable singer and songwriter Spencer Day is coming in from NYC to debut tunes from his new album.  Finn Kelly will be bringing back interactive games for an improve piece and, we are also honored to have a new dance troup, Sharp and Fine, to create a spectular visual experience.  AND… we will also feature the debut of the Rhyme Combinator, which is not to be missed.  Fanastic eats are provided by Two Tarts.

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for August 21^st. Prepare for an invigorating night of Latin, Classical and worldly sounds as presented by the Musical Art Quintet. We’ve also lined up a stellar set of Argentine Tango with Trio Garufa, joined by the Quintet and Tango Dancers from Argentina. The Quintet will feature new music by Sascha Jacobsen, Adam Theis and Eric Garland, plus many special guests.

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for July 31^st and we are back to having the Realistic Orchestra anchor the show.  We have lined up a number of collaborators for dance, film and games and we’ve got a new food vendor in store for this one.  As usual, we will debut a few more features for the audience participation games to keep things interesting.   We’ve have sold out well in advance so we ask that you get your tickets soon!

We are doing the tickets a bit differently this time around by charging $15 upfront so we can better gauge who will be in attendance.

The next Treat Social Club is now officially on the books for June 19^th and we have one hell of a show lined up.  Moving away from the big band format this month, we have lined up the incredibly talented Real Vocal String Quartet (rsvq.com). They will be treating us to a set of their original compositions, many of which composed specifically for this event.  Specifically, we will debut an original work set to a film produced by Jim Granato called “Designated Routes in Nature and Time.” Adam Theis will bring his String Quartet to the occasion for the second set of music and we will culminate the night in a collaboration between the two to whip things to a frothy conclusion.  We have lined up a number of special guests including Tyler Knowlings on tap and several aerial acts to blow your minds.  In addition, Finn Kelly will debut a few more audience participation games to keep things interesting.   We have released 150 tickets and we encourage to get your soon as we sold out the last event.  Get your tickets now!

The Treat Social Club will officially open its doors to the public on Tuesday May 1 at 7:30pm. This month will feature several original works set to silent film composed by various members of The Realistic Orchestra. We will also be featuring the sensational tap dancing of Tyler Knowlin. Valerie Scott and Amanda Boggs will be performing an aerial dance piece set to original music and us gamers are excited to feature an interactive mobile component that folks can play to influence the performance.
